JOB SUMMARY:
This position is a multidisciplinary role which requires a well-organized individual with strong attention to details, excellent client service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to receiving and distributing incoming materials, transporting materials between Airmar locations and its subsidiaries using company vehicles, Material Handling, and Inventory Control responsibilities.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Operates company vehicles to transport materials using non-CDL box truck, pick-up truck, and/or other passenger vehicles as needed. Transport of material using company vehicles requires interstate travel as needed.
Properly loads and safely secures materials into vehicles.
Conducts all required safety and operational inspections against inspection logs for material handling equipment and company vehicles used for transporting materials. Reports findings (safety or other issues) to Supervisor.
May need to drive company vehicles for miscellaneous reasons (fueling and routine maintenance service appointments).
Assists other employees with lifting and moving heavy items and obtaining materials from shelves/racking using material handling equipment.
Works cooperatively with other Receiving Team members to balance workload and share responsibilities.
Examines shipment contents and reconciles with packing slips to verify accuracy.
Records damage or discrepancies in received orders.
Inspects shipments to verify correct items (quantity and code) are received in proper condition and reconciles to packing slips. Includes but not limited to inventory, non-inventory, RMAs, and serialized parts.
Receives materials into business system against the correct purchase order, transfers items that require inspection as needed.
Delivers materials to appropriate departments or properly stores with all received materials.
Maintains clean and orderly Warehouses.
Endures periods of heavy workload as fluctuation of deliveries vary.
Pick’s materials required for outside Work Orders and packages for shipment.
Knowledge of MSDS/SDS documents.
Identifies hazardous materials and labels them accordingly.
Fulfills warehouse material requests and delivers to appropriate locations.
Operates material handling equipment including manual cranes, forklifts, man lifts and both electric and manual pallet jacks.
Loads, unloads, and rearranges materials for easy access.
Ensures materials are pulled in FIFO order.
Performs cycle counts for assigned warehouse locations as identified by Supervisor.
Confirms inventory accuracy and participates in inventory audits. Assists with reconciling discrepancies.
Assists the Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams with rework of materials and RMA processing as needed.
Works cooperatively with all personnel.
Maintains open communication with department Material Handlers.
Participates in Continuous Improvement projects.
Performs other related duties as may be required or directed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School/G.E.D. or equivalent experience
Receiving: 1+ years previous experience as a receiver
Material Handler: 1+ years as a Material Handler
Truck Driver: 1+ Year
Reading and comprehension, basic math skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills, computer skills (navigation and email).
Able to obtain DOT Certification which includes physical.
Must complete forklift/man lift certification training.
Must be able to drive a box truck and pass a company road test.
