JOB SUMMARY:

  • In accordance with all applicable work instructions and SOP’s, perform all relevant tasks for Either Encapsulation, Molding or Marport
  • Demonstrates & maintains competency, productivity, and quality levels for their respective department.
  • This is defined by the department Skills matrix and verified by the department Supervisor and/or Team Lead(s).
  • Note: Similar or additional skills obtained from other departments may be factored into this requirement.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school education or equivalent experience or 1 to 2 years of related work experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate a lathe.
  • Ability to perform repetitive or routine duties working from detailed instructions and under standard procedures.
  • Ability to use standard measuring devices, i.e. micrometers, verniers, calipers, comparators, CMM, thickness and depth gauges.
  • Ability to read two-dimensional blueprints.
  • Interacts positively as a team member with co-workers and supervision.
  • Basic math ability required.
  • Basic computer skills.

DUTIES/RESPONSBILITIES:

Encapsulation

  • Determines what type of encapsulant is required for the scheduled product per BOM.
  • Preps and assemble molds and fixtures for each product.
  • Ensures machine and equipment start up and shut down procedures are followed.
  • Conduct encapsulation fills for each product family in accordance with the applicable work instructions and BOM’s.
  • Hand mixes encapsulant material as required for specific product lines.
  • Perform material replenishment as required.
  • Perform and monitor material vacuum draws.
  • Perform entry level equipment P.M. to ensure maximum safety and performance.

Molding

  • While performing job requirements, observes all safety regulations including personal protective equipment applicable to the use of electrical tools, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Machine startup and ability to trouble shoot problems with molded parts.
  • Configures and installs plastic injection molds with supplied settings according to schedule.
  • Produces accurate number of molded parts and inspects injection molded parts in accordance with inspection procedures.
  • Responsible for proper storage of molds and maintains accurate documentation.
  • Manually removes gates from plastic parts.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork.
  • Maintains work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Moves material as necessary in performance of duties.
  • Performs other related duties as may be required or directed.
  • Able to interact positively as a team member with co-workers and supervision.

Marport
(Encapsulation and Machining)

  • Obtains work instructions, BOMs and prints from IFS.
  • Preps and assemble encapsulation molds and fixtures for each product as required.
  • Ensures machine and equipment start up and shut down procedures are followed.
  • Checks urethane levels in tanks daily and perform material replenishment as required.
  • Perform and monitor material vacuum draws.
  • Perform entry level equipment P.M. to ensure maximum safety and performance.
  • Responsible for proper storage and cleaning of molds.
  • Measure and mark dimensions to lay out stock for machining lamination.
  • Set up operating and maintaining a lathe.
  • Machining transducer on the lathe.
  • Verify measurements using vernier calipers.
  • Maintain encapsulation and Lamination WIP.
