JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Technician to join our hardware electrical team. The ideal candidate will play an important role in supporting the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components. The Engineering Technician will collaborate closely with engineers to ensure the successful development of ultrasonic transducers.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assembly and Testing

  • Assemble and test electrical components, prototypes, and systems.
  • Perform Surface Mount Technology (SMT) rework on Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Troubleshoot and debug electrical circuits and systems.
  • Procure components required for the prototype builds.
  • Assist other technicians and engineers in creating test fixtures or setups for development or production
  • Collaborate with engineers to refine designs oased on test results.

Documentation

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of testing procedures, results, and modifications.
  • Document SMT rework processes and specifications.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.

Prototyping

  • Build and modify prototypes of electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to refine and improve prototypes.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with electrical engineers to implement design changes.
  • Provide feedback on design improvements based on practical testing.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and tools.
  • Procure the necessary equipment and maintain the lab.
  • Identify and report any issues with equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during testing, assembly, and SMT rework.
  • Ensure the workplace is organized and follows safety standards.
  • Abide by industry standards and regulations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician or a similar role.
  • Experience in SMT rework and proficiency in using electrical testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical CAD software is a plus.

Skills

  • Excellent SMT rework skills, including the ability to solder and desolder fine pitch components.
  • Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other testing equipment.

Teamwork

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Adaptability

  • Ability to adapt to changes in design and project requirements.
