JOB SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision and in collaboration with the Configuration Engineering team, applies knowledge to manage projects, develop part configurations for new and existing products and provide continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages new part development projects from inception to completion.
  • Manages product improvement projects as required.
  • Develops work instructions and bills of materials for new and existing configurations jointly with lab personnel, configuration engineers and design engineers.
  • Responsible for the assignment of new product part numbers.
  • Responsible for the creation of configurations for new and existing products per sales/marketing/customer requests, as required.
  • Write, review and process ECOs.
  • Create and modify 2D and 3D prints ranging from easy to more difficult, as required.
  • Participates in design reviews.
  • Develops wiring diagrams and cable assembly drawings for new and existing products.
  • Participates in first article approval requests (FAAR) meetings as needed.
  • Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts in manufacturing processing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor’s in business administration and/or technical degree.
  • 2 - 3 years manufacturing or equivalent experience. Willingness to pursue related technical education if necessary. 5+ Years of experience in configuration and/or project management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to persuade others to change existing practices.
  • Excellent listening skills: giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Proficient with computer and information technology.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others (ex. Supervisors on the floor, engineers, etc.)
  • Based on experience, provide guidance and advice to management or other groups on technical, systems or process related matters.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and have a solid working knowledge of IFS, DraftSite, Pro Engineer (Creo), Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Frame Maker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Bartender.
